She Was Sent to Kill Me

On screen

An open stretch of ground with a gate at the far end, where players run for freedom and hunters chase them down. The rules are announced aloud: reach the gate and leave alive, and any hunter who helps a player dies with them. Eli is a doctor caught among the players. Delilah Kane is the hunter given his name, armed and bleeding from the arm. He wants out alive; she wants to survive the rules.

Episode by episode

1. Ep. 1Five seconds to runno account

Forced to his knees, Eli notices the hunter is bleeding and tells her he is a doctor. A voice repeats that hunters who help players die with them. Inside, he proposes a bargain, bandaging for a head start. She grants five seconds and starts counting, until a voice orders Delilah to kill him.

2. Ep. 2Back from the gatefree account

The order to kill echoes as Eli, already at the gate, turns back for her after spotting someone aiming. Delilah asks if he is crazy; he says he was not going to leave her. Then the voice sets a new countdown: if she does not shoot him within five, both are dead, and the count falls as he asks her to look at him.

How bold it gets

Low on intimacy: tension comes from danger, a wound being dressed and close contact under threat. The first two episodes hold no kiss or bedroom scene.

Still open after episode 2

The countdown stops the second episode at its last number; whether Delilah pulls the trigger, and how either of them reaches the gate, is left open.

Names you will hear: Eli and Delilah Kane.
