A conference room on a high floor, full of quarterly projections and nervous staff, is where Jake starts his new job. His girlfriend asked her stepmother, Margot Vey, to hire him, and Margot warns him not to embarrass her. When he points out that a slide is wrong, Margot clears the room and praises him as the only man who tells her the truth. A text from his girlfriend says she is five minutes away. Margot sets a nine o'clock meeting in her office.

His girlfriend texts that she is on her way, and he tries to leave, saying it is a bad idea. Margot tells him nine o'clock, her office, and dismisses him.

   At nine, in Margot's office, she orders the door locked. He protests that he cannot afford to lose either the job or the girlfriend, and Margot says she will handle the rest. Then the girlfriend calls to check on Jake. Margot praises his dedication, hangs up and makes him answer to her as boss.

How bold it gets

Office flirting turns physical in the second episode, with a locked door and Margot taking charge while her stepdaughter is on the phone. It stays suggestive rather than shown in detail.
